Position Overview:

BWXT is currently seeking Engineering Interns for multiple positions!
The Engineering Interns will provide Engineering support across various departments in the Nuclear Operations Group Lynchburg. Possible work areas include but are not limited to: Manufacturing Process Engineering, Drafting, Developmental Engineering, Systems Engineering, Powder Metallurgy, General Manufacturing, Machining, Assembly Operations, Research and Development, and Civil Engineering.

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.

BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from Lynchburg, VA. Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work/ assigned projects to the leadership team.

Your Day to Day as an Engineering Intern

-Develops and delivers unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear manufacturing environment.
-Creates and updates drawings and procedures.
-Participates in design, testing, analysis, project management, and procurement of materials.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

-Must be currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree program pursuing a degree in Engineering.
-Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
