Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time School Psychologist position is available to support K-12 students across three to four school sites in the Palmyra, VA area. This contract role covers the entire school year, offering an opportunity to impact student success through psychological services in a K-12 educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse K-12 caseload, addressing the emotional, developmental, and psychological needs of students.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to identify learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and other challenges.
- Provide counseling services and interventions to support student well-being and academic progress.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and effective support strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with district and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Licensed or certified School Psychologist with credentials valid in the state.
- Experience serving K-12 populations with demonstrated skills in assessments and counseling.
- Ability to balance evaluations and direct counseling minutes efficiently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to work effectively across multiple school sites.
- Knowledge of special education laws, psychological testing tools, and intervention techniques.
Location: Palmyra, Virginia
This role requires adaptability to operate across several school locations while prioritizing student needs through timely evaluations and counseling support. The position offers an engaging year-long contract with responsibilities central to fostering student achievement and mental health.
