Full-Time Sales & Service Center Tech Advisor

American GFM, a globally recognized custom machine builder with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Sales & Service Center Tech Advisor to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. We operate in various industries, including steel, automotive, and aircraft, providing innovative production technologies such as radial hot and cold forging machines, high-capacity cutting cam and crankshaft milling machines, ultrasonic cutting machines, and more. Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, answering questions and directing them to appropriate support teams.
• Assist sales managers and coordinators with order processing and participation in quotations.
• Maintain and strengthen customer relationships through direct interfacing and follow-up.
• Support customers alongside representatives and technical/engineering colleagues.
• Facilitate sales meetings and participate in customer activities in-house.
• Utilize MS Office products, Adobe Pro, and AutoCAD (for viewing information) to perform daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role within a technology-based environment.
• Background in engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to demonstrate basic Excel formulas and document formatting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with electronic and mechanical systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, adapting to changing conditions.
• Strong telephone etiquette and a pleasant demeanor with customers.
• Reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
