Position Overview:

The Cyber Security Intern will assist with administrative duties supporting the BWXT LTC facilities. The role will be under the direction of the corporate Cyber Security Operations Manager.

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, VA or remote

Your Day to Day as a Cyber Security Intern:

• Assists in developing and maintaining applications using C# and the .NET framework.
• Writes, debugs, and tests code under the supervision of senior developers.
• Updates and improves existing software features.
• Participates in code reviews and team meetings.
• Documents code changes and technical processes.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with current enrollment and completed college coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must be able to work throughout summer 2026.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Pay: $21.63 - $26.52

The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $21.63 and $26.52 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
