Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Armed Industrial Patrol in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more .
As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols and remaining highly visible throughout your assigned areas. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents and fosters a welcoming atmosphere for employees and visitors. In this armed post, you will be responsible for responding promptly to incidents, supporting access control, and upholding the highest standards of customer service and communication. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas within the manufacturing and industrial location.
- Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Collaborate with site personnel and local authorities as needed to address security-related matters.
- Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearms in accordance with Allied Universal and client policies.

Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
