Parks and Recreation Intern (Danville)

This internship program was designed to meet a growing demand for practical experience, to satisfy college curricula requirements and to prepare students for possible employment in the field. Both students and the department stand to benefit from the internship experience. The intern shall work under the direct supervision of a professional staff, creating a meaningful experience for the student and satisfying university requirements.
Performs a variety of administrative and technical duties as assigned to provide management support and participate in special projects; This position is designed to provide students with professional experience in furtherance of their education and training. Work is performed under direct supervision.

Assists with various tasks and projects that are directly associated with the academic program in which they are currently enrolled; May conduct research and perform analysis of assigned projects; May be trained to coordinate a procedure or minor program under direct supervision; Attends and participates in office meetings; May attend in-house departmental training.
Performs other duties as assigned. -
Related coursework in area of interest; Possess critical thinking skills; Ability to effectively communicate in both writing and speaking; Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other software as required by position; Ability to adhere to city policies; Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, Department Directors, and the general public.
Possession of a valid drivers license
