We are seeking a committed professional to fill a full-time Mental Health Outpatient Clinician position supporting our mission and services. This role plays a vital part in delivering quality outcomes and serving our community.

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for providing mental health therapy to adults residing in the Greater Reach CSB catchment area. As it pertains to outpatient mental health therapy, services to be provided include assessment, treatment planning, individual, group and family counseling, case coordination, case management, referrals, crisis intervention coordination, discharge planning and associated record keeping. The incumbent will provide in-service trainings to Greater Reach CSB staff and requested trainings to community stakeholders. This position will work cooperatively with other stakeholders to secure the most appropriate, least restrictive services for consumers.

Required Education and Experience

Master’s degree in human services or related field.

Board registered in the state of Virginia with license eligibility.

Minimum one (1) year position related clinical experience working with SMI adults in crisis intervention providing individual and group therapy.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

OR

Master’s degree in human services or related field with a LMHP/ LPC/LCSW/LMFT/LSATP/LCP license/certification.

Minimum three (3) year position related clinical experience working with SMI adults in crisis intervention providing individual and group therapy.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Valid Driver’s License with a point balance of -6 or higher.

Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

Knowledge of crisis intervention therapy and techniques; human personality, growth and development; mental health disabilities.

Evaluation of mental health disabilities; counseling/therapy techniques; case management services; ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences);bio/psychosocial and cultural aspects of substance use and mental health disorders particularly as occur in adults; self-help groups; co-occurring disorders; and dually diagnosed/multiply challenged client and relevant treatment approaches.

Knowledge of VA Code as it relates to Temporary Detention and Involuntary Commitments.

Proficient skill in providing emergency/crisis intervention services.

Ability to complete comprehensive psycho-social evaluations.

Ability to maintain accurate and timely casework documentation.

Strong ability in the of coordination of services for the mentally ill to include providing mental health consultation and education services.

Skills in assessment and diagnosis of substance abuse and mental health.

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.

Annually Salary Range

Grade C9 for Licensed Eligible. $60,863.00 - $68,471.00.

Grade C11 for Licensed. $69,356.00 - $80,916.00.
