Summary:
This position delivers orders of wine, beer and other alcohol to customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all deliveries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Drive a cargo van or an 18 foot box truck.
· Drive short and long distances to grocery stores, wine shops, restaurants throughout Northern Virginia and south down the 81 corridor.
· Unload beer and wine cases to deliver to the customers.
· Check orders in with the customer, obtaining invoice signatures, and valid form of payment.
· Handle cash and checks.
· Make daily deposits of cash to the bank.
· Manage paperwork, invoices, checks, deposit tickets, cash, fuel receipts, manifests. etc.
Requirements:
· Must be able to pass Department of Transportation drug and alcohol screening.
· Perform daily pre-trip inspections.
· Must possess knowledge and maintain ability to follow all alcoholic beverage (ABC) rules and regulations.
Skills:
· Driving – must be able to drive short and long distances, in and out of traffic, while maneuvering a cargo van or an 18 foot box truck effectively.
· Navigation – must have knowledge of Northern Virginia Area and possess the ability to read a map, use GPS and other map applications.
· Organizational – ability to organize daily paperwork.
· Prioritizing – make delivery timing decisions based on customer schedules.
· Physical – able to lift 50 pound cases and maneuver 150 pound kegs. Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jacks and u-boats. Able to load and unload cases of beer and wine from a van/truck and move them into customer accounts including maneuvering cases up and down stairs.

· Work skills – ability to work independently with a diverse group of people. Must be able to remain calm in all situations.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Work environment is primarily in and around the truck and in and out of customers accounts. Must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperature and inclement weather.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to crawl, climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pound cases and be able to maneuver 150 pound kegs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel:
No out of state business travel or overnight travel is expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience, or other Qualifications:
· 21 years of age or older
· GED Required
· 1-2 years of experience driving a cargo van or delivery truck (18 foot box truck preferred).
· Valid driver’s license commercial or non-commercial.
· Copy of current driving record for DC, MD, and VA at time of interview. Only positive points allowed.
