Closing Manager
Job Description
The Mortgage Closing Manager leads the closing department to ensure residential mortgage loans are finalized accurately, compliantly, and on time. This role oversees daily operations, including workflow management, document review, and funding, while serving as the final point of contact for borrowers, agents, and lenders. The position requires strong communication skills, deep knowledge of mortgage loan servicing, and proficiency with loan origination software such as Encompass, as well as a thorough understanding of regulations including TRID and RESPA.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mortgage closing department to ensure all residential loans close accurately, compliantly, and within established timelines.
- Oversee daily closing operations, including workflow coordination, document review, and funding processes.
- Serve as the final point of contact for borrowers, real estate agents, and lenders throughout the closing process, providing clear and timely communication.
- Review closing documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain strict compliance with mortgage regulations, including TRID and RESPA, and ensure all closing practices adhere to current guidelines.
- Mentor, guide, and support closing team members to promote high performance, accuracy, and consistent service standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve closing issues and remove obstacles that could delay funding.
- Monitor and optimize departmental workflows to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance the borrower experience.
- Utilize loan software such as Encompass to manage files, track progress, and ensure accurate data entry and documentation.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices within the closing function.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managing role, preferably within mortgage closing or a related mortgage operations function.
- Hands-on experience with mortgage loan servicing processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and compliance requirements, including TRID and RESPA.
- Proficiency with loan origination and closing software, such as Encompass.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with borrowers, agents, and lenders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and finalizing closing documentation.
- Solid organizational and time management skills to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience overseeing end-to-end residential mortgage closing processes.
- Background in managing workflow, funding, and document review in a regulated financial services environment.
- Ability to analyze and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and borrower satisfaction.
- Comfort working with distributed teams across multiple locations.

Work Environment
This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule. You will work as part of a coordinated team distributed across the nation, collaborating closely through digital tools and loan software such as Encompass to manage and finalize residential mortgage closings.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfax, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
