Come join the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC). We are conveniently located in the New River Valley, where you will enjoy hundreds of outdoor adventures, vibrant arts and cultural activities, University (Radford University and Virginia Tech) sporting events, and a broad range of live music venues. This is a full time position, offering flexible scheduling, allowing for 5 eight-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) or 4 ten-hour shifts each week with rotating weekday and weekend call requirements. On call requirements: 8-10 days per month including weekends.

Job duties and responsibilities to include:

• Assisting physician with direct patient care during procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions.
• Delivers quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Assists in emergent conditions using critical thinking skills.

• Participates as part of procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, closure site care, etc.
• Participates in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education.
• Contributes to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission. Actively participates in obtaining desired service line outcome.

Procedures performed:

• Left and Right Heart Catheterizations
• Angioplasty
• Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
• Peripheral catheterizations and interventions
• Pacemaker/ICD implantations
• Loop recorder implants and removals

What We Require:

Education: RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or RT(R)(CI) - Radiologic Technologist (Registered)(Cardiac Interventional) preferred or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RTR or RT) with board registry or licensure required. (Radiologic Technologist, Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care)

Experience: Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, RCIS or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist, RCES or Radiologic Technologist, Registered, RT(R), or Registered Respiratory Therapist, RRT or Certified Respiratory Therapist, CRT.

Life Support: Must have and maintain current AHA BLS- Provider certification. Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
