Job Description

As a Security Officer - Site Patrol in Salem, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, document observations, and communicate clearly with team members and site staff while delivering customer-focused service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from appropriate resources when required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, buildings, equipment yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, and directing visitors and contractors according to site procedures.
• Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
