Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient
Virginia Beach, VA Work Shift
Rotating Overview: Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for the Commercial Pharmacy Services team in Virginia Beach, VA. Location: Sentara Independence, Virginia Beach, VA Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating The Pharmacy Technician p erforms care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- HS Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required) and CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
- Previous pharmacy experience (Preferred)
