Chipton-Ross is seeking a Electromechanical Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 9 Years with Bachelors in Science (electrical, mechanical, marine, nuclear or chemical engineering); 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- This position requires technical ability to lead the development of design, qualification, installation and improvements for the Machinery Control and Monitoring System hardware.
- The ideal candidate will possess carrier knowledge, and some level of expertise in power, piping, and machinery design/analysis.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.
- Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
- The engineer will lead design studies (e.g., root cause analysis, new design development), identify life-cycle cost reductions, conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and assist with developing integrated technical positions and recommendations for customer approval.
- The engineer will resolve problems identified during equipment manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- The engineer will assist in developing products and provisioning documentation, and maintain technical manuals and drawings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
ABET Engineering degree required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
