Senior Manager & Counsel, Supply Management

Hilton
McLean, VA

***This role is based at our corporate office in McLean, VA***

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

The Senior Manager & Counsel, Supply Management, will be a strategic legal advisor to the supply management and procurement team, Hilton Supply Management (HSM). You will also be a part of a multi-functional team providing transactional counsel and advice to internal clients, and occasionally supporting other parts of the business, including the Commercial and Brands organizations. Reporting to the Director & Counsel, you will lead contract negotiations, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, while supporting our sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain operations.

What you'll do during a typical day:

  • Provide legal counsel on procurement strategies, vendor relationships, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting supply management and advise stakeholders.
  • Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement matters related to suppliers and vendors.

How you'll collaborate with others:

  • Collaborate with supply chain, finance, compliance, and business units to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Work with subject matter experts within the Legal team to provide guidance on regulatory and legal issues affecting supply chain operations, including antitrust, data privacy, ESG, and international trade.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships for specialized support.

Deliverables you'll take ownership of:

  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review complex commercial contracts, including MSAs, Agency Agreements, statements of work, supply agreements, logistics, and outsourcing contracts.
  • Develop and implement contract templates, plans, and training programs to improve efficiency and consistency.

What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or corporation with experience in supply chain, procurement, or commercial transactions.
  • JD, LLM, LLB, or foreign equivalent degree.
  • Admitted to a U.S. State bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law, or become eligible to practice law (e.g., able to obtain registered in-house counsel status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • Procurement expertise and commercial acumen to support sourcing and management strategies across a broad array of category services.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-regional commercial activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in legal document drafting with a focus on detailed accuracy.
  • Understanding of legal concepts and experience to relay concepts to business partners and other Legal team members.

It would be useful if you have:

  • In-house counsel experience preferred, especially in a global or complex corporate environment.
  • Experience with international supply agreements and cross-border transactions.
  • Experience advising on supply issues as they arise, including ad-hoc cost issues e.g., tariffs / import export cost, and cost inflation.
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management tools (e.g. Coupa) and legal operations best practices.
