Position Overview:

The Cyberspace Readiness and Joint Training Specialist (Key Personnel) supports the full spectrum of Joint Training System (JTS) activities to ensure mission readiness in cyberspace operations. This role involves analyzing mission requirements, developing and executing training objectives and plans, evaluating training effectiveness, and conducting readiness assessments. The Specialist plays a critical role in synthesizing readiness reports, identifying risk areas, and recommending proactive courses of action to maintain and enhance mission readiness. Working closely with leadership and staff, the Specialist ensures integrated cyber and mission requirements are addressed, documented, and tracked through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all phases of the Joint Training System (JTS), including requirement analysis, training plan development, execution, observation, and evaluation.
  • Conduct ongoing readiness assessments, evaluating mission capability against established metrics.
  • Review readiness reports for completeness and accuracy, compiling data into actionable readiness indicators.
  • Enable understanding of integrated cyber and critical mission requirements, especially during mission constraints.
  • Recommend cyberspace courses of action to mitigate operational risk, with emphasis on pre-positioning for readiness prior to exercises or operations.
  • Provide input to leadership and staff on updates to training and assessment criteria.
  • Support joint training meetings, prepare documentation, and deliver after-action reports.
  • Capture lessons learned and track corrective actions through closure, escalating issues as necessary to ensure governance.
  • Coordinate across functional areas to ensure training and readiness activities are aligned with operational objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certifications:
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level III baseline certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH).
  • Experience:
    • Five (5) years of relevant IT and/or Cybersecurity experience.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Understanding of joint training principles, mission readiness assessment, and operational risk management.
    • Strong analytical skills to evaluate readiness data and develop actionable recommendations.
    • Familiarity with DoD readiness reporting systems, cybersecurity regulations, and operational planning processes.
    • Proficiency with readiness tracking tools, data analysis software, and government-provided automated systems.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills for delivering reports, briefings, and recommendations.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience supporting joint military training exercises and readiness reporting processes.
  • Background in cyberspace operations, mission assurance, or operational risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) readiness and training standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple organizations and functional areas in a DoD environment.

Security Clearance

  • Have an active Top Secret clearance
