Job Title: Optometrist
Base Salary: $130-180k + Bonus

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality vision care services, including routine vision exams, detection and management of eye diseases, prescribing corrective lenses, and educating patients on eye health. You will collaborate with staff to ensure a positive patient experience and help our clinic maintain its reputation for excellence in Hampton and surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages (children through geriatric).
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage ocular diseases and conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy).
  • Prescribe, fit, and dispense corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses).
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate vision correction products and ensure proper lens and frame selection.
  • Use diagnostic tools/technology to assess eye health (e.g., retinal imaging, visual field testing, biomicroscopy).
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, vision correction options, and proper use & care of lenses/contacts.
  • Coordinate with staff and assistants to ensure smooth patient flow and schedule management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
  • Stay current with new optometric advancements, participate in continuing education.
  • Participate in practice-based meetings, community outreach, and educational events, as needed.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Valid optometry license in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Experience in primary eye care; experience with ocular disease management preferred.
  • Competence in contact lens fitting and management.
  • Proficient with diagnostic equipment and technology (e.g., slit lamp, tonometer, fundus camera).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; patient-focused and empathetic.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, capable of multitasking.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high clinical standards.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time position.
  • Regular clinic hours (similar to current hours: Monday through Friday, varying start and end times; occasional Saturday hours if/when needed).
