Advanced Practice Provider(NP/PA/FNP) Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic

The APP will see high complexity patients in Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic (PETC). The APP should expect to spend most of their time at the Fontaine and Ivy Mountain Preoperative Anesthesia Clinics. Optimization will include Telehealth visits one day per week, once the workflow has been established. New hires should be prepared to work 100% of time in person during the orientation process and initially, immediately following orientation. Other satellite clinic locations may develop. Preferred skills: 1. Critical thinking 2. Strong interpersonal skills and communication 3. Desire to develop new process/protocols, and flexibility with workflow 4. Clinical efficiency Open to all APP applicants with a Masters - NP, PA, & CRNAs. We have particular interest in an FNP that has prior experience with pediatrics. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. ​ Requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and require vocational or technical education. ​ Works under limited supervision for routine situations. ​ Provides assistance and/or may lead and training to lower-level employees. ​ Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand. ​ May lead daily operation activities.​ **Background checks and pre-employment health screenings** will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a **drug screen.** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
