This is a Senior Web Application / Python Developer position for supporting a DoD program located in Fort Belvior, Virginia.

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to join our dedicated technical team in safeguarding those who serve against criminal, terrorism, and emerging threats. A DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

As a key member of our high-achieving team, you'll design and deliver high-quality technical solutions in Python. You'll maintain functional and technical knowledge of our mission systems, focusing on leveraging technology to support business objectives. Your role involves identifying technical challenges and opportunities for efficiency, offering insights through system design, and providing technical perspectives for configuration. This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering a chance to make a significant difference.

Your Impact:

• Independently work on the development and data migration of several legacy ColdFusion/Oracle DB software application to a modern Python-based system architecture.
• Work onsite at the customers location in Fort Belvior, VA, engaging directly with customers of varying technical backgrounds.
• Handle a broad range of duties, from gathering and refining requirements to developing, testing, and supporting the deployment of the resultant code.
• Juggle multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently and efficiently.
• On a typical day, focus on new features or enhancements and data migration, with occasional troubleshooting of end-user issues and support for recently deployed features.

Qualifications:

• Active DoD Clearance
• 5+ years of experience in developing web applications using Python and Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
• Proficiency in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern JS frameworks).
• 5+ years of experience with SQL (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) including queries, stored procedures, triggers, tuning, and database design.
• Experience in migrating data and systems from ColdFusion to a Python-based environment.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with legacy code, identify solutions, and discuss with clients as necessary.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in creating user-friendly and intuitive software.
• Capability to work collaboratively with clients to understand business requirements and propose solutions.
