Ontology Subject Matter Expert
Vantor seeks an Ontology Subject Matter Expert to design and govern semantic data models powering modern web and data products. You will lead ontology design, knowledge graph structuring, and metadata standards to support search, analytics, and automation. Partner with engineers, data teams, and product owners to translate business domains into reusable models, ensure data quality and interoperability, and guide best practices. Contribute to client projects, documentation, and reviews in an agile, collaborative, low ego environment focused on craftsmanship and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain ontologies and semantic data models to support software, analytics, and automation use cases.
- Develop and govern knowledge graphs, metadata standards, and vocabularies for interoperability.
- Collaborate with engineers, data teams, and product managers to translate business domains into semantic models.
- Define and enforce data quality, consistency, and governance practices for ontologies and related data assets.
- Support implementation of ontologies in applications, APIs, and data pipelines on modern cloud platforms.
- Document models, decisions, and best practices; provide guidance and training to teams and clients.
- Contribute to solution architecture, discovery, and requirements for ontology-driven projects.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate in a low-ego, continuous-learning environment.
