Maintenance Team Member
Position Overview
Maintenance and Repair Workers perform a wide range of tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and mechanical systems remain safe, functional, and efficient. This role requires versatility across multiple trades, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repair
· Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and machinery.
· Diagnose issues and perform repairs involving electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or structural components.
· Install, align, and balance new equipment as needed.
· Maintain and repair building structures, including floors, walls, stairs, and fixtures.
· Perform preventive maintenance on motors, belts, drives, HVAC components, and related systems.
Skilled Trade Tasks
· Complete basic carpentry, welding, machining, and pipe‑fitting tasks.
· Assist with HVAC maintenance and related mechanical work.
· Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Facility Upkeep
· Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
· Support snow removal, waste disposal, and general facility cleaning as needed.
· Perform grounds and lawn maintenance using mowers, trimmers, and related equipment.
Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
· Working knowledge of multiple trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
· Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
· Ability to operate forklifts, tractors with implements, and lawn‑maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
· Physical capability to lift, climb, bend, and perform manual labor.
Work Environment
· Work occurs in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
· Tasks frequently require climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, and operating aerial lifts to access equipment or building components at height.
· Some duties involve rigging, hoisting, or securing materials and equipment in accordance with safety standards.
· Work may include operating forklifts, tractors, attachments, and grounds‑maintenance equipment in outdoor or uneven terrain.
· Work may take place in confined spaces, around moving machinery, or in areas requiring personal protective equipment.
· The role may require responding to urgent maintenance needs outside of standard hours.

Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent typically required.
· Vocational training or apprenticeship in a skilled trade preferred.
