A dynamic partner hospital is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their compassionate and skilled team in Newport News VA . This role offers the chance to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced urgent care environment focusing solely on urgent careno wellness services. If you are passionate about animal care and enjoy the challenge of an urgent care setting this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat urgent care cases including illnesses injuries and other emergencies.
- Provide medical care administer treatments and prescribe medications.
- Perform necessary procedures and surgeries (excluding abdominal surgeries).
- Maintain thorough and organized patient records.
- Collaborate with a dedicated veterinary team to ensure optimal care for all patients.
- Communicate effectively with clients about diagnoses treatment plans and pet health.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
- Active veterinary license in good standing to practice in Virginia (or ability to obtain one).
- Experience in urgent care medicine is preferred but not required. Special consideration will be given to new graduates.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and the veterinary team.
- A commitment to high-quality care and a Fear Free approach to handling animals.
