Dutch Deck and Fence is seeking an experienced Lead Deck Builder to lead deck construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a skilled craftsman and team leader who can execute an approved customer design with precision while delivering a high-quality finished product and a positive customer experience . The Lead Deck Builder is responsible for running the crew, maintaining jobsite standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a deck-building crew on residential and/or commercial projects

• Build decks according to approved customer designs, plans, and specifications

• Ensure craftsmanship meets Dutch Deck and Fence quality standards

• Deliver a professional, positive customer experience throughout the project

• Work with composite and PVC decking materials (Wolf, TimberTech, Fiberon, etc.)

• Plan daily work activities to keep projects on schedule

• Delegate tasks and maintain crew efficiency and accountability

• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company procedures

• Communicate clearly with customers, management, and inspectors as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite

• Identify and resolve jobsite issues or design challenges while protecting the customer’s vision

Qualifications

• Proven experience in deck construction, specifically with composite and PVC decking systems

• Experience leading or supervising a construction crew

• Strong understanding of framing, footings, fastening systems, and layout

• Ability to execute detailed designs accurately and consistently

• Strong time management and problem-solving skills

• Customer-focused mindset with professional communication skills

• Familiarity with local building codes and inspections

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions

• Experience with railing systems, pergolas, and fencing

• Ability to identify design conflicts and communicate solutions clearly
