This is an outstanding opportunity for a Structural Designer who wants to work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and expand their expertise in structural, architectural, and mechanical design. You'll be involved from concept through production, creating high-quality designs that drive successful project execution.
What You'll Do
As a Structural Designer, you'll play a key role in developing and modifying structural shelter systems while ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed structural and electrical shelter drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Transform customer specifications, bid documents, engineering requirements, and design inputs into production-ready designs.
- Develop structural layouts, modifications, and custom shelter solutions for a variety of applications.
- Perform engineering calculations and design evaluations using established procedures and industry standards.
- Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work orders throughout the design process.
- Manage projects involving concrete, lightweight metal, and multi-piece shelter systems.
- Review and verify design accuracy, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, sales, and manufacturing teams to support project success.
- Provide technical support and design expertise to customers, factory personnel, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with design reviews, mentorship, and drawing markups for fellow team members.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Travel occasionally as needed to support projects and customer requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of Structural Design or Structural Engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong understanding of structural drafting, design principles, and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and engineering calculations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with structural shelter design, modular structures, or engineered building systems.
- Knowledge of architectural, structural, and mechanical design disciplines.
- Experience creating BOMs and supporting manufacturing environments.
