Position Summary

System One IT is seeking a detail-oriented Beaker Integration Program Manager to lead a large-scale laboratory instrument integration program across 11 hospitals over approximately 24 months.
This individual will provide both strategic program leadership and hands-on project management across a complex healthcare technology environment. The Program Manager will establish program structure, coordinate multiple technical and operational workstreams, sequence hospital rollouts, assess staffing needs, manage vendors, and maintain alignment across shifting priorities and tight timelines.
The successful candidate will have strong Epic Beaker implementation experience across both Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology, laboratory instrumentation integration expertise, and demonstrated success leading complex healthcare IT programs.
Although this is a remote position, travel to hospital and project locations will be required up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the program structure, governance model, project plans, and recurring project standups
• Lead day-to-day project and program management activities across an 11-hospital instrument integration initiative
• Develop and manage implementation priorities, hospital rollout sequencing, staffing plans, analyst capacity assessments, and delivery timelines
• Facilitate scope reviews, readiness check-ins, executive reviews, and program decision-making sessions
• Serve as an operational liaison among laboratory leadership, clinical operations, IT, and implementation teams
• Coordinate activities across laboratory operations, Epic Beaker, the broader Epic team, device integration, Data Innovations, RALS, interface engine, infrastructure, and vendor teams
• Manage third-party vendors, including deliverables, dependencies, schedules, risks, and escalations
• Track project status, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, and interdependencies across multiple workstreams
• Prepare and present clear status reports and executive-level program updates
• Escalate schedule, staffing, scope, technical, and operational risks appropriately
• Coordinate the collection, review, and validation of project documentation for completeness
• Support documentation requirements associated with system build, testing, laboratory validation, accreditation compliance, and change control
• Lead cutover planning, go-live readiness, command center coordination, and deployment support activities
• Manage transition-to-support planning, including support materials, knowledge transfer, ownership documentation, and handoff processes
• Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of project team members, analysts, consultants, and vendors
• Maintain alignment across multiple hospitals while adapting plans to operational needs and evolving program scope

Required Qualifications

• Strong project and program management experience within healthcare IT or laboratory systems
• Direct Epic Beaker implementation experience involving both Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology
• Experience managing or coordinating laboratory instrument integrations
• Experience leading complex projects involving multiple hospitals, facilities, or implementation sites
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate laboratory operations, IT, application, integration, infrastructure, and vendor teams
• Experience with program governance, rollout sequencing, resource planning, scope management, risk management, and executive reporting
• Experience supporting laboratory system testing, validation, cutover, go-live, and transition-to-support activities
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to documentation, dependencies, timelines, and follow-through
• Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum in a changing program environment
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher
• Epic Beaker certification or accreditation
• Experience with Data Innovations Instrument Manager or comparable laboratory middleware
• Experience with RALS or other point-of-care testing integration platforms
• Familiarity with HL7 interfaces and healthcare interface engines
• Experience working with laboratory instrument manufacturers and integration vendors
• Knowledge of laboratory regulatory, accreditation, testing, and validation requirements
• PMP, PgMP, or comparable project or program management certification
• Experience leading phased deployments, enterprise rollouts, or multi-hospital go-lives

Work Environment and Travel

This position is remote within the United States. The Program Manager must be available to travel to hospital and project locations up to 50% of the time based on implementation schedules, testing activities, cutovers, go-lives, and other program needs.
