Join a thriving $20 million government contractor that delivers essential IT services to Federal, State, and Local organizations. Our client is looking for a dedicated Accounting Administrator to join their tight-knit team, working closely with the CFO in a two-person accounting unit.

Location: On-Site - Virginia Beach, VA
Hourly Rate: Market
Job Type: Contract (3 months)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the receipt and accounting of funds, compile and record employee time and payroll data.
• Compute and post wages, deductions, and prepare paychecks.
• Ensure accuracy in invoices and adherence to proper accounting procedures.
• Assist in developing financial management, budgeting, accounting, and payroll policies.
• Maintain confidential payroll files and distribute paychecks/pay stubs.
• Coordinate external audit materials and financial reporting.
• Establish and maintain efficient filing systems.
• Deputize on behalf of the CFO as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in Costpoint with expertise in billing for government contracts, project processing, and reporting.
• Understanding of the Federal Contract Procurement Cycle and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
• Experience in accounting for federal contracts and managing audits.
• Strong knowledge of timekeeping and labor regulations for federal contractors.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software packages like Enterprise QuickBooks and ADP.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and adapt to flexible working schedules.
