Description:
Heavy equipment operators are responsible for operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and excavators at the job site.
Major Responsibilities:
- Operating heavy equipment to perform work site tasks, such as digging, loading, and moving materials
- Ensuring that safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times
- Conducting daily inspections on equipment
- Coordinating and communication with other workers to ensure efficient task completion
Qualifications:
- Have 5 years' experience operating various types of heavy equipment
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Pass a drug screen and background check
Physical demands:
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of problems
- Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls
- Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
- Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct at the job site and to meet job responsibilities
