QUESTIONS
General Statement of JobResponsible for training, testing, and supporting specific information systems across multiple departments. Primary help desk support for all employee-related supported information systems requests. Implements data accuracy, process functionality, and process efficiency. Utilizes data collection interfaces and documents, maintains, and reports on information stored in the system. Implements procedures for acquiring and recovering data, including all aspects of data entry and report generation. Responsible for providing daily training and technical support to employees. Work is performed under general supervision.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Evening Meetings Approximately 2X week and other occasional overtime. All new employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. A conditional offer of employment may then be made contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test. This position requires work on-site and is not a tele-commuting position. This is a non-exempt position. Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Essential Functions: Primary support for users of the assigned information systems. Escalates requests when needed in support of the information systems team. (Tyler Munis, GIS, etc.) Primary trainer for users of the assigned information systems. (Tyler Munis, GIS, etc.) Assists with the development of training materials. Provides group and individual training and coaching to users. Ability to work with multiple departments, balancing their various missions and time sensitivity, needs for an agreeable balance amongst all groups involved. Assists the team with testing the information systems in support of upgrades, workflow changes, and troubleshooting. Required to protect confidential information that may include Personally Identifiable Information and other sensitive information. Assists other Town departments with developing business practices that ensure data accuracy and enhance employee efficiency. This includes developing dashboards to support customer needs and job functions. Performs testing on the employee interface aspects of the software functionality. Creates and updates documentation for the specific information systems.Designs creates, and maintains custom and standardized data files, statistics, reports, and analyses for Town departments.
Provide Project Management for new and existing Town Information Systems and Applications.
Additional Duties :
Prepares documentation for various systems training and report reviews; receives and reviews grant funding requests; prepares written incident reports, automated reports, and contractor status reports; prepares and processes a variety of other reports and documentation as required.
Performs related work as assigned.

Uses mathematics involving the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions; or measurements, logarithmic, or geometric construction; may use algebraic solutions of equations and inequalities, descriptive statistics, deductive geometry, plane and solid and rectangular coordinates; mathematical and classifications or schemes. Communications Requirements: Communication involves the ability to read, write, and speak.Reads journals, manuals and professional publications; speaks informally to groups of co-workers, staff in other organizational agencies, general public, people in other organizations and presents training; composes original reports, training and other written materials, using proper language, punctuation, grammar and style.
Judgment Requirements: Judgment requirements refer to the frequency and complexity of judgments and decisions given the stability of the work environments, the nature and type of guidance, and the breadth of impact of the judgments and decisions. Decision-making is a significant part of the job, affecting a large segment of the organization and the general public; works in a dynamic environment, responsible to assist in developing policies and practices. Complexity of Work: Complexity addresses the analysis, initiative, ingenuity, concentration and creativity, required by the job and the presence of any unusual pressures present in the job. Performs coordinating work involving guidelines and rules, with constant problem solving; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results or frequent exposure to unusual pressures. Impact of Errors: Impact of errors refers to consequences such as damage to equipment and property, loss of data, exposure of the organization to legal liability, and injury or death for individuals. The impact of errors is serious - affects most units in organization, and may affect citizens or loss of life and/or damage could occur and probability is likely. Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. Equipment Usage: Equipment usage involves responsibility for materials, machines, tools, equipment, work aids, and products. Establishes methods and procedures for acquiring and handling of machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving extensive latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items. Unavoidable Hazards: Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. Involves routine and frequent exposure to electrical shock; heights. Safety of Others: Safety of others refers to the level of responsibility for the safety of others, either inherent in the job or to ensure the safety of the general public.Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others.
Minimum Training and ExperienceRequires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Database Management, Computer Architecture, GIS Mapping, or closely related area.
Requires three years prior supervisory or managerial experience in computer science, computer engineering, database management, computer architecture, GIS mapping, or closely related discipline.
