Job Description:

The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing fire sprinkler systems in commercial or government facilities. This includes pipefitting, diagnosing and repairing system issues, and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards. While NICET certification was previously required, we are now considering candidates with relevant hands-on fire sprinkler experience for faster placement.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, and maintain fire sprinkler systems (wet and dry pipe systems)
Measure, cut, and fit pipes and valves according to specifications
Troubleshoot and repair leaks, faulty valves, sprinkler heads, and system controls
Perform functional tests and flow checks to ensure proper operation
Work collaboratively with building personnel and engineering staff to support fire safety needs
Interpret fire codes, blueprints, and system schematics as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

Hands-on experience working with fire sprinkler systems (wet/dry systems)
Ability to use tools and equipment to install and repair sprinkler systems
Understanding of basic fire safety principles and NFPA guidelines
Valid drivers license\
Minimum 35 years of relevant experience

Preferred:

NICET Level II certification (a plus, but not required)
Familiarity with NFPA 13 and 25 standards
Experience working in government or commercial building settings

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Must be able to work in confined spaces, on ladders/scaffolds, and at various heights
Some tasks may involve exposure to outdoor weather, noise, dust, or fumes
Normal vision and manual dexterity required for handling components and tools
