Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting maintenance and engineering activities at a specialty gas production facility in Cambridge, MD. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by overseeing both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, supporting engineering projects, and collaborating closely with operations, production, and supply chain teams.
Job Description
- Comply with and actively support all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs, policies, and procedures
- Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance activities at the Cambridge, MD facility
- Partner with the Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, and regional Operations leadership to develop, maintain, and execute maintenance plans and timelines
- Ensure on-time execution of preventive maintenance (PM) work orders
- Oversee and coordinate on-site contractors and vendors performing maintenance or project-related work
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Management for sourcing contractor and vendor services
- Support and participate in engineering projects at the Cambridge facility, with potential assistance on additional projects as needed
- Accurately document and track maintenance activities using the Intelex system
- Ensure compliance with all IMS/QMS guidelines and maintenance-related requirements
- Recommend and implement continuous improvements to maintenance programs and practices
- Coordinate with plant personnel to minimize production impact during maintenance or project work
- Support the Production Team with manufacturing of HBCs and/or transfill orders as required
- Assist with production coverage during personnel absences due to vacation or illness
- Shift: 8am – 5pm
Skills Required
- 5+ years of industrial plant maintenance experience preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a production plant environment
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing pumps, vacuums, valves, piping, and compressors
- Cryogenic liquid pump experience preferred
- Proficient with a wide variety of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Computer proficiency, including Intelex, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google tools, and related systems
- Ability to understand and comply with quality systems and report quality deficiencies
- Ability to understand and follow all safety regulations while on company or customer property
- Strong English communication skills and ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Full range of motion required
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
