Chandler Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate and dependable Overnight Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Counselors to provide immediate, community-based behavioral health interventions during overnight hours. This role is critical in ensuring individuals experiencing mental health crises receive timely, professional, and person-centered support when it is needed most.

Position Overview

The Overnight MCR Counselor responds to crisis calls in the community, conducts on-site assessments, provides stabilization and de-escalation, and coordinates appropriate referrals and follow-up services. This role requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to mental health crisis calls during overnight hours in community-based settings
• Conduct crisis assessments, risk evaluations, and safety planning
• Provide immediate stabilization and de-escalation interventions
• Collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, emergency services, and community partners
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with state and agency standards
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times

Overnight Schedule

• Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM
• Weekday and weekend availability
• On-call and PRN opportunities available

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
• Must meet Virginia DBHDS requirements for Mobile Crisis Response staff
• Previous crisis intervention or behavioral health experience strongly preferred
• Valid drivers license with reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Mobile Crisis Response experience
• Active QMHP-A, QMHP-C, or equivalent credential
