Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform both mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as preventive maintenance on food processing equipment. Your responsibilities will include breaking down machinery for cleaning and initiating startup procedures. You will work within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for preventive maintenance tasks and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on food processing equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks.
• Break down machinery for cleaning purposes.
• Initiate and oversee machinery startup procedures.
• Utilize CMMS for managing preventive maintenance and work orders.

Essential Skills

• Experience with electrical systems, including control voltage (24V) and three-phase systems up to 480V.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems, including pneumatics, power transmission, pulleys, chains, sprockets, drives, motors, and conveyors.
• Troubleshooting and repair capabilities for machinery.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Understanding of GMP and hydraulic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
• Experience in a food manufacturing plant is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant where adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is essential. The facility operates on a shift schedule with openings on the first, second, and potential third shifts. Employees will be provided with gowns and steel-toed boots, and tools will be supplied, though you may bring your own basic tools if preferred. Orientation takes place on the first day, including GMP training.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sterling, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.

I have breakdown of full benefits but here is summary - The cost for single coverage is around $100/ month. Family Coverage is around $250 / Month. No Deductible; $2500 max out of pocket per year for singles, $5000 for families.
401(k) Program
Client will match $1 for every $3 up to 2% of pay for all eligible
employees after 1 year of service
Paid Time Off
Eligible employees get 2 or 3 weeks paid vacation based on service, 5 paid sick
days and 8 paid holidays per year
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
FSA is a program which allows you to set aside money for medical
(up to $1,500) and dependent care expenses (up to $5,000) through pre-tax
payroll deductions and is based on a calendar year.
