Responsibilities

• Improve process capabilities and capacity by identifying root causes and constraints, then developing creative solutions to correct and prevent future issues.
• Measure process performance using appropriate KPIs and develop data collection systems to drive performance.
• Consult with customers regarding new applications, existing product improvements, and performance.
• Develop trial plans, proof of concepts, and DOE to validate potential solutions.
• Support and maintain manufacturing operations, including developing process documentation and assisting in training operators.
• Develop and maintain reports and other documentation, including Automotive Sector Core Tools Documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, APQP).
• Track and report progress on critical assignments using essential project management tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data analysis.
• Knowledge of chemistry, material science, electrical principles, machining, metallography, thermal dynamics, and quality management principles.
• Ability to manage projects, analyze and resolve issues using statistical tools, work with minimal supervision, and quickly address new directions/concerns.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills, especially when communicating technical knowledge to non-expert audiences.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Preferred proficiency in MS Project, CAD, SQL, Minitab, Arduino, and Ladder logic.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Job Location and Conditions

• Duties are performed within a manufacturing environment, conference room, and office setting.
• Work involves a high-volume manufacturing environment with chemicals and manual and automated equipment.
• Perform work safely following department safety procedures. Operate equipment safely and report unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
• Some travel required to support customer visits, trade shows, training events, and other plant locations.
