Key Responsibilities & Duties

The Camp Nurse is responsible for the health and safety oversight of both campers and staff throughout the camp session. Key duties include reviewing medical histories, conducting physical screenings upon arrival, medication administration and documentation on MARs. Beyond routine care, this role involves providing emergency first aid, facilitating specialized medical treatments such as g-tube feedings, and training staff on health protocols and injury reporting. By maintaining rigorous documentation and reporting errors immediately, this position ensures a safe, compliant environment that prioritizes the physical well-being of the entire camp community.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold current licensure as an RN, LPN , or CNA and meet all professional American Camp Association (ACA) standards for camp health personnel. While not mandatory, ideal applicants will possess a background in rehabilitation or previous experience supporting persons with disabilities, as well as familiarity with the unique operational demands of a camp environment. These qualifications ensure the medical staff can adapt clinical care to an outdoor setting while maintaining rigorous safety and medication management protocols.

Hours & Schedule

This position is a full-time, 11- week seasonal position. The work week is Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday (12:00 p.m. to either 8:00 or 10:00 p.m.)
