JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Utility worker

FLSA: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Manager, Restaurant

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the cleanliness of kitchen floors, all dishes, all pots and pans, china and glassware. Removal of trash and dirty linen. In charge of keeping the dishwashing area CLEAN and neat and make sure there are enough cleaning supplies for the shift.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:

• To keep the dish pit equipment, walls, shelves and floors clean at all times. To return clean pots, pans etc, to their proper place.
• To operate the dishwasher, keeping water changed and disposal emptied to assure proper cleaning of dishes.
• To keep loading dock clean and organized
• To crush all boxes and load in recycle bin
• To keep the area around the recycle bin and dumpster clean and organized.
• To empty trash during and at the end of each shift, disinfecting trash cans weekly
• To sweep and mop the entire kitchen at the end of each shift.
• Must be able to assist Chefs and Cooks in all areas of the kitchen including, but not limited to, cleaning, prepping and cooking.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skill & Abilities in:

• Ability to break down dishwashing machine and clean, to change the water during the shift to ensure proper cleaning of dishes. Understanding proper chemical usage and safety.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:

High school diploma OR GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and capable to stand for extended periods of time
