Key Job Details – Neuro ICU RN

• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Neuro ICU – 12-bed critical care unit
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend and holiday
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Orientation: 16 hours (Modules are non-billable up to 16 hours)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770-$1820

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU RN experience preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse license (Virginia or compact state; pending license accepted with conditions)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (can submit with pending)
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• References required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide intensive care to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including stroke, brain and spinal injuries, neuromuscular diseases, and CNS infections
• Manage ventilated patients and interpret/manage dysrhythmias
• Implement infection prevention protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.)
• Float within scope of practice as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules
