This Emergency Room RN position is located in Salem, VA at a 500-plus-bed acute care hospital that specializes in heart and vascular care through a designated Heart Center, as well as orthopedics and spine, behavioral health, and cancer care.
The role. As an Emergency Room RN, you will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages presenting with conditions ranging from minor injuries to critical illness. You will manage multiple cases simultaneously, continuously reprioritizing care based on acuity across the unit. Coordinating closely with physicians and other departments, you will collaborate with patients and families to develop effective follow-up care plans and facilitate appropriate referrals. Accurate, succinct, and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policy is an integral part of the position.
What we're looking for.
- Diploma or Associate's Degree from an accredited professional nursing program (required)
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of nursing (preferred)
- Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia, or a current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in Virginia (required)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (required)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an emergency room within an acute care setting (required); candidates with med/surg backgrounds will be considered for cross-training on nights shift only
Schedule. Full-time, with available shifts spanning days, evenings, nights, and mixed rotations, including rotating weekends.
Compensation. $32.33 - $48.50/hr plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
