Security & Loss Prevention Expert
The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Key job responsibilities* Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
* Actively monitor and report outcome for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
* Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft fraud and workplace violence/critical incidents.
* Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
* Serve as departments liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert keeping site leadership informed on departments key issues strategies and the performance.
* Identify promote and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs processes and initiatives incident response planning facilitating and management.
* Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
* Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push pull squat bend and reach; Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud; Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments); Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
* This role covers 24/7 operations and must be able to work all shifts including nights weekends and holidays. A day in the life
As a SLP Expert you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations security-related incidents and loss events. During your investigations you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools analyzing data reports and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to identify and drive mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers maintain their functionality. Furthermore you identify and act upon initiatives improving our physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for our external suppliers. You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You will be working on multiple high-impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management. Finally you deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of our S&LP plan. About the team
Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazons Worldwide Operations as well as affiliate and retail businesses by creating and maintaining a work environment that is both prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. We accomplish this by creating policy and implementation guidelines; training leadership and staff; using technology to eliminate subjectivity complexity and variation; identifying preparing for and mitigating risk; and auditing our practices to ensure compliance. - Bachelors degree or 4 years of professional or military experience
- A minimum of 2 years in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR 2 years of Amazon blue-badge experience - Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts
- Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors
- 2 years of operational experience in risk management audit data analytics inventory control quality assurance retail warehouse distribution center services delivery service or supply chain
- Investigative interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski Loss Prevention Qualified Certified Protection Professional Loss Prevention Certified Certified Forensic Interviewer Certified Threat Assessment Certification or other relevant certifications
- Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience

The base pay for this position ranges from $47500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $95400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
