Job Summary
Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is pleased to announce an opportunity for dedicated Kitchen Workers to join our esteemed Dietary Team at our Inpatient, Residential Treatment Center. In this role, you will be instrumental in our daily operations, serving adults with Substance Use Disorders. Your contributions will significantly enhance our clients' well-being by ensuring they enjoy nutritious meals in a clean and inviting environment.

Wage:

$15-16 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Slice and chop food in accordance with meal requirements.
• Prepare appetizing salads and portion desserts into containers.
• Stock refreshing juices and milk, and assist the Lead Cook as necessary.
• Serve meals to clients with a smile, ensuring food is placed on the serving line promptly.
• Follow the assigned menu while adhering to sanitary guidelines.
• Restock cups, napkins, forks, and spoons as needed to maintain a smooth dining experience.
• Maintain clean work areas and wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to ensure our kitchen remains pristine.
• Clean table tops and the dining area after each meal to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
• Record daily temperatures of refrigeration systems and food to ensure safety and quality.
• Perform cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor, including sweeping and mopping to maintain a tidy environment.
• Accept food deliveries and follow the correct procedures for checking in orders with enthusiasm.
• Complete other related duties as assigned with a positive attitude.

Required Skills

• Good personal hygiene and the ability to maintain a clean kitchen.
• Ability to adhere to controlled portions of food.
• Reliable work attendance is essential.
• Willingness to learn and participate in required training sessions.
• Prior dietary experience or training is preferred.
• Knowledge in food preparation is advantageous.
• ServSafe Certification to ensure food safety.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and a flexible schedule to thrive in our dynamic environment.
