About the Role
The Maintenance Electrical Controls Technician performs complex technical work in the installation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and related electro-mechanical systems. This position will be responsible for PLC programming and control logic for automated equipment. This position also inspects and tests elements of electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions, performs required repairs through replacement of inoperative parts or re-wiring of circuits, and provides an estimate of repair or replacement costs beyond the capability to perform. The Maintenance Electrician also calculates branch circuit loads, interprets electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, and determines methods and requirements for wiring circuits.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery; perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery as required per established PM programs and complete required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, identify root causes, and make repairs on production equipment.
- Support production by ensuring safe and proper operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
- Perform basic electrical work including troubleshooting circuits, replacing components, and assisting with low-voltage installations.
- Generate, complete, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Assist with established preventive maintenance activities and identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Program Variable Frequency Drives or Servo motor drives.
- Troubleshoot PLC programs and robotics equipment.
- Accurately use, read and understand various precision instruments including, but not limited to meters, meggers, and Oscilloscopes.
- Must be willing to mentor and train existing and new maintenance employees.
- Follow all Company safety rules and regulations including LOTO and wearing all required PPE
- Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
- Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification or equivalent experience in mechanical field
- 4 years prior maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Basic understanding or experience with industrial electrical systems, including safe handling of wiring, controls, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of current OSHA, NEC, and ANSI standards
- Working knowledge of variable frequency drives
- Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
- Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to perform maintenance functions above ground level from l' to 50'
- Must be able to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop, or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift
- Must be able to use hands, fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
