Summary

Old Dominion University’s Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation’s (OERI) is looking for a Project Scientist to support the ongoing research initiative of the medical modeling and simulation within the Digital Patient program at VMASC. The activities will involve developing instructional technology tools to support models and simulations for digital patient prototypes. This position serves as a key contributor to ODU’s efforts to advance the state-of-the-art digital modeling and simulation. The Project Scientist position will also help foster interdisciplinary collaboration and promote innovation by sharing findings through publications, presentations, and outreach activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contributing to development of the digital patient model
• Develop, simulate, and analyze activities in digital patient models.
• Collect, process, and analyze data related to digital patient models.
• Prepare research findings for publication and presentation, including drafting manuscripts for submission to conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external partners to advance research objectives and share technical knowledge.
• Utilize programming languages for algorithm development, simulation, and data analysis.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
