About the Role

VITA is seeking a senior-level IT Project Manager to manage high-risk, high-visibility technology projects and support strategic initiatives aimed at improving local government practices and reducing systemic risk across the Commonwealth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver high-risk projects from initiation through close-out within budget and on schedule.
• Perform program assurance and advisory tasks for a strategic portfolio of Commonwealth projects.
• Support the development of VITA's Project Management Center of Excellence (PM COE), including mission charter and agency alignment.
• Create and deliver high-risk project training materials.
• Develop risk management reporting tools and dashboards.
• Mentor agency project managers on risk management best practices.
• Coordinate with state/local government teams and vendors to ensure project alignment and stakeholder engagement.
• Track tasks, budgets, deliverables, risks, and issues; escalate where necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of senior-level experience in portfolio management
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT projects valued at $10 million+
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or other commercial project management tools
• Active PMP Certification (Must be uploaded to be considered)
