New CDL A Drivers Paid Training Programme
O'Connell Motor Freight INC is seeking full-time W-2 Class A CDL drivers to operate OTR, regional, and dedicated routes primarily east of I-35. This opportunity is suitable for experienced drivers and for recent CDL graduates; qualified candidates may participate in a paid Class A training program with mentor support. Drivers are assigned late-model tractors and receive comprehensive benefits beginning on day one.
- Employment type: Full-time, W-2
- Equipment: Assigned 2024–2025 Freightliner or Kenworth tractors
- Typical freight: No-touch dry van; approximately 70% drop-and-hook for customers across the Eastern U.S.

Training program (for eligible candidates)
- Fully paid three- to five-week training for recent CDL school graduates who meet the minimum instruction requirement (at least 120 hours)
- Training covers safe tractor-trailer operation, compliant ELD use, trip reporting, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and company procedures
- Progress is assessed through supervised driving and competency evaluations prior to solo assignments
Primary responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Transport primarily no-touch dry van freight and execute scheduled pickups and deliveries, maintaining on-time performance
- Maintain accurate ELD logs, trip reports, and DVIRs
- Perform and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment issues
- Communicate professionally and proactively with dispatch, customers, and team members
Minimum qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL, or recent CDL school graduate eligible for company training (minimum 120 hours of prior instruction)
- Satisfactory driving record demonstrating a commitment to safety
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
