About This Role
Brilliant Beginnings Learning Center is seeking qualified, energetic, and passionate individuals to join our team! We provide a Christian-based learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old , and we’re looking for teachers who are dedicated to helping our brilliant students grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Ideal candidates are friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the lives of children. Applicants should also demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to families.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must hold a high school diploma, college transcripts, or a degree
- Must have prior experience working with children
- Must successfully complete a Virginia State Background Check
- Must be willing to complete a PPD (tuberculosis) screening

What You'll DoInfant–Toddler Teacher Job Duties
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth.
- Create engaging learning experiences through individual and group activities that encourage exploration, curiosity, and skill development.
- Lead by example and foster a positive, collaborative classroom environment by modeling effective teaching practices and mentoring assistant teachers.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure compliance with all center policies, state licensing regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and hygienic environment by upholding cleanliness protocols and supervising children at all times.
- Supervise and guide classroom assistants and volunteers to ensure lesson plans, routines, and safety procedures are followed consistently.
- Maintain accurate documentation including attendance, incident reports, developmental assessments, and lesson plans.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth by participating in training and maintaining a current professional development plan.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or college transcripts or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 months of professional childcare experience required.
- Strong communication skills —both oral and written—and basic computer proficiency.
- High energy , enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents to foster a positive team environment.
- Solid understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and health screening .
- Must be able to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers , and handle classroom materials and tools . Position may also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling ..
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in an accredited early childhood program or Montessori setting..
- Understanding of infant/toddler sensory and motor development milestones.
- CPR and First Aid certification (if not required, still highly valued).
- Ability to plan and implement creative, age-appropriate activities.
- Experience using positive guidance and behavior management strategies.
- Skills in fostering language development through reading, singing, and interactive play.
- Comfort with sensory play, messy activities, and outdoor learning experiences.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with parents about their child’s progress.
- Patience, empathy, and emotional intelligence in handling both children and parents.
- Team-oriented mindset; works well with other teachers and staff.
- Familiarity with child assessment tools and documentation systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate daily reports and child portfolios.
- Basic computer skills for parent communication apps and lesson planning.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and energetic personality.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing classroom.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood education.
