Job Title: UAV Assembly Technician
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and related electro-mechanical systems for defense applications. You will build, wire, and test components and subassemblies using technical drawings and specifications, while working closely with engineers and team members in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical components and subassemblies according to blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Perform electrical wiring of UAV systems and components to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
  • Conduct functional testing of assembled products to verify performance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect incoming components and finished assemblies for defects, irregularities, or nonconformities, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional team members to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve processes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning units, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Document assembly procedures, modifications, test results, and quality checks to ensure full traceability and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation, following all safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Support cross-training efforts, including learning related functions such as quality assurance, as needed to meet production goals.
  • Utilize computer systems to access virtual blueprints and drawings and to complete required data entry and documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience assembling electro-mechanical systems in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with small components and complex assemblies.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment for assembly and verification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, including virtual blueprints and digital drawings.
  • Competent computer skills to pull drawings, review documentation, and perform accurate data entry.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality, with the ability to identify and correct defects or irregularities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and team members to solve problems and improve processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical certifications or relevant vocational training in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field are preferred.
  • Experience with assembly in a warehouse or production environment is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with production workflows, quality control practices, and traceability requirements.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%–15% of the time for training or operational needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
  • Openness to a start-up style environment, including flexibility, initiative, and a desire to help build and refine processes.
  • Comfort working toward ambitious delivery and production goals.

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse and production environment with dedicated assembly workstations and access to hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and computer systems for virtual blueprints and documentation. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work pattern. The facility operates in a start-up mode, with evolving processes, close-knit teams, and a strong focus on meeting future high delivery goals tied to key defense contracts. The role includes travel of about 10%–15%, including a required two-week training period abroad. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures while maintaining flexibility to adapt as the operation grows.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $49920.00/yr.
