Administrative Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time) - Dual Role at The Grout Genie & TradeWorx Academy.

Location: Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA (In-person).

Pay: $18-$25/hour (based on experience).

Schedule: Flexible (Part-time or Full-time options available).

We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and organized Administrative Assistant to help support the daily operations of our two sister businesses: The Grout Genie (a tile and grout restoration company) and TradeWorx Academy (a DIY and trade education workshop space).

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of customer service, admin work, and having a visible presence in our local businesses. You’ll split your time between both locations (right here in Fair Oaks Mall), helping our businesses run smoothly and ensuring no customer walks away without a helpful experience.

We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and organized Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our two sister businesses:

• The Grout Genie - a tile and grout restoration company.
• TradeWorx Academy - a DIY and trade education workshop space.

This unique position offers variety in your day, blending customer service , administrative tasks and front desk presence.

You’ll split your time between both businesses (both located inside Fair Oaks Mall), ensuring smooth operations and a warm, helpful presence for customers who call, email, or stop by.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls and return messages for both businesses.
• Respond to emails with a professional and friendly tone.
• Schedule in-person and virtual estimates for The Grout Genie.
• Coordinate workshop sign-ups and logistics for TradeWorx Academy.

Scheduling & Admin:

• Maintain appointment calendars and keep project info up to date.
• Enter customer details into our booking and CRM systems.
• Provide admin support to our instructor and contractor team.

In-Person Support:

• Greet walk-in guests, answer questions, and assist with drop-ins.
• Keep the front desk area clean and welcoming.
• Assist with workshop prep (e.g., print handouts, set up seating).
• Rotate between The Grout Genie and TradeWorx Academy spaces.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Friendly, helpful attitude.
• Comfortable learning basic software and online tools.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to stay organized.
• Experience in admin or customer service is a plus.

• Worked in a small business, startup, or multitasking role.
• Familiarity with home improvement, DIY, or tile work (not required).
• Experience with basic social media posting or photo/video editing.
• A good eye for capturing moments or helping boost our visibility online.
