Medical Assistant Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with medical tests, in a timely manner, including inhouse blood work and CLIA waved testing.
- Assist healthcare professionals in minor procedures, and other medical treatments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Sterilize medical instruments and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment, as directed by supervisor.
- Travel between both locations as needed.
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and always maintain patient confidentiality.
Medical Assistant Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health records systems
- Bilingual abilities, preferred but not required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or related certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in Prior AUTH’s for medications
- Insurance referral experience
