Job Description
BAE Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Power Plant Operator for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA. This position will start at a training level advancing to a Steam Plant Operator when qualified. Must be able to operate natural gas\\oil fired boilers, maintain the water system and treatment of boiler feedwaterwater to the system, and auxiliary equipment to provide steam to various areas of the plant to be used for energy and production purposes. These systems provide required utilities for heating and production purposes at the RFAAP plant on a continuous around-the clock basis. Operators must abide by federal regulations governing environmental protection, safety, hazardous waste disposal and the use of chemical substances and materials.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years Power Plant experience required.
Knowledge of the principles and methods involved in high pressure steam and boiler feedwater.
Knowledge and understanding of natural gas boilers.
Boiler water quality treatment.
Knowledge of: CEMS - Continuous Emissions Monitoring System.
Knowledge of: SCADA - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years Power Plant experience required.
Knowledge of the principles and methods involved in high pressure steam and boiler feedwater.
Knowledge and understanding of natural gas boilers.
Boiler water quality treatment.
Knowledge of: CEMS - Continuous Emissions Monitoring System.

ASOPE Licensing preferred.

Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
