Desi Fresh Foods is a leading “cultured” dairy manufacturer with 25+ years of experience. We produce high-quality and consistent products, which include yogurt (Dahi or Indian, Greek and traditional), smoothies/yogurt drinks, sour cream, and dips from single serve options to food service sides. We are currently seeking a skilled Warehouse and Inventory Manager to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our facility in Frederick County, Virginia!

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse and Inventory Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations and inventory accuracy, ensuring efficient storage and movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished food products. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, managing cold and dry storage areas, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and leading the warehouse team to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and quality in all operations.

The ideal candidate has experience managing the warehouse and inventory of a refrigerated and ambient manufacturing production company. This is an onsite role based out of Winchester, VA and will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse and inventory operations to support overall Supply Chain objectives, maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular audits, and prevent shortages or overstocking of materials.

• Oversee receiving, storage, organization, and shipping of refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods.

• Manage temperature-controlled storage to maintain product integrity and minimize spoilage.

• Work closely with the Logistics Manager to coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance and accurate deliveries.

• Coordinate with Logistics and Customer Service to align warehouse activities with production schedules, replenishment needs, and customer delivery timelines.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager to forecast demand and plan replenishment.

• Utilize inventory management and ERP systems for tracking, reporting, and analysis.

• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for efficiency and safety.

• Lead, train, and schedule warehouse staff, including forklift operators and an inventory specialist, promoting accountability and teamwork.

• Monitor equipment and facility conditions to ensure proper maintenance and operation.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow and reduce waste.

• Resolve issues related to damaged goods, shipment discrepancies, or inventory variances.

• Prepare and present reports on stock levels, turnover, and operational performance.

• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company food safety and sanitation standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse or inventory management experience, preferably in dairy or food production or distribution.

• Experience leading a small Warehouse team (5-10 people).

• Bachelor’s degree in Inventory Management, Operations, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

• Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics and familiarity with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP compliance requirements.

• Proficiency with inventory management software, ERP system (e.g., Sage) and Excel/Google Sheets.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment (think start-up mentality).

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. This role has a pay range of $65,000 - $85,000 annually. The pay range provided is an estimated base pay range for this role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and location.
