Senior Systems Engineer - GEOINT Services

Responsibilities

We’re seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and drive complex systems engineering efforts across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) , Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG) , and partner Federal Agencies. In this high-impact role, you’ll shape the architecture and integration of mission-critical GEOINT systems that directly support U.S. and allied operations.

What You’ll Do

As a technical leader, you will:

• Mentor and guide mid- and junior-level systems engineers across the full engineering lifecycle, including:

  • Requirements development

  • Solution architecture and systems integration

  • Scheduling and service development

  • Testing, evaluation, and maintainability

  • Reliability and resiliency engineering

• Lead planning and analysis of user requirements and system architectures

• Improve system performance through the review of cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling constraints

• Oversee the development of solution designs based on requirements analysis and emerging technologies

• Translate mission and customer needs into actionable system and capability requirements

• Support the allocation of requirements to architecture components and program execution

• Guide systems integration across multiple platforms, programs, and agencies

• Conduct technical assessments including:

  • Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs)

  • Courses of Action (CoAs)

  • Trade Studies

  • Engineering Assessments

• Assist in strategic planning and oversight of:

  • Project management

  • Performance engineering

  • Risk management

  • Interface design

• Operate at the enterprise level—integrating multiple systems, services, and processes within Major Systems Acquisitions , spanning organizational and agency boundaries

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following fields:

  • Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, nformation Technology, Management Information Systems, Other related STEM disciplines

  • OR 12 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in lieu of a degree

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in government or industry in one or more of the following areas:

  • DoD/Intelligence Community (IC) Acquisition Processes

  • Requirements development processes

  • PPBES (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)

  • Systems engineering of large, complex System of Systems (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Cloud environments

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle

Security Cleraance

• Active TS/SCI clearance

  • OR the ability to obtain SCI eligibility and pass a polygraph

Desired Qualifications

Education

• Master’s degree in:

  • Systems Engineering

  • OR a related technical or scientific field (as listed above)

Certifications & Licensure

• INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of:

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, languages, and processes

  • Software Development Frameworks

• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Photogrammetry

  • Remote sensing

  • Image science

  • Information sciences

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • Geomatics

  • Other related geospatial fields

Domain Expertise

• Documented work experience in the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) field

• In-depth knowledge of current:

  • NSG – National System for Geospatial-Intelligence

  • ASG – Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence

  • NRO – National Reconnaissance Office enterprise

Professional Engagement

• Membership or leadership in professional organizations such as:

  • ACSM – American Congress on Surveying and Mapping

  • ASCE – American Society of Civil Engineers

  • ASPRS – American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

  • OGC – Open Geospatial Consortium

  • SAREM – Society for American Remote Earth Monitoring

  • USGIF – United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
