A new full-time contract opportunity awaits a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about working in an elementary school setting. This role is based near Axton, VA, with exciting collaboration opportunities in neighboring areas such as Chatham, VA. The position may involve some minimal travel between locations within the district, ensuring comprehensive support for students across sites.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure for Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
- Experience or strong interest in working within elementary school settings
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaboration with educators and families
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort adapting therapy strategies for diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and provide direct therapy services for elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to provide holistic support
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the educational planning process
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress reports, and communication logs
- Participate in minimal travel between school sites as needed to ensure continuity of care
